With more than ten years of construction industry experience, Eric has a well-rounded career. During this time, he has served as a lead estimator, business development manager, project coordinator, project engineer, assistant superintendent and junior architect. Eric’s professional experience is reinforced by a strong educational background. His education includes a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in Construction Engineering Management from Lawrence Technological University.
Eric’s responsibility as a Senior estimator is to lead in the evaluation of the owner’s requirements during planning and design. He establishes an initial program budget followed by a detailed estimate based on design and document development. He leads budget reviews and value analysis/value engineering sessions to provide the best value to the project and helps to ensure that designers work within the agreed-upon budget.
Once the project has been awarded, he participates in various procurement activities including subcontractor selection, strategic vetting, contract term negotiations and actual purchasing of goods. His last line of responsibility includes monitoring the projects budget/cost, change order support and extra work reviews.
