Our Company

Devon Industrial Group (DIG) is a minority owned Construction Company, certified by the Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council (MMSDC), a regional affiliate of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC). DIG successfully provides innovative, forward-thinking construction management services to automotive/industrial, commercial, healthcare, institutional, and educational customers.

Our foundation as a company began as the result of a mentoring relationship between minority construction supplier, Devon Contracting and the Walbridge Aldinger Company, one of the nation’s largest construction firms. In 1998, with an increasing demand for services and a desire to better serve customers resulted in the creation of DIG: an already successful relationship evolved into a partnership, with Devon Contracting as the controlling partner.

Over the years, DIG has earned success across a range of different sectors. However, we especially excel within the automotive industry where our performance has created repeated business opportunities with respected companies such as Ford, Toyota, Honda, General Motors, FCA, and other OEM’s & Tier Suppliers. Our success comes as a direct result of the diverse background of our principals and the thinking behind our corporate mission to “provide quality construction services by developing and implementing innovative solutions to assist us with exceeding the needs of our customers”.  Our innovative solutions are resulting in safe, quality driven cost effective projects for customers throughout the United States.

At DIG the safety and well-being of our employees, subcontractors, clients and others who may visit our job sites is a top priority. We have built a culture that promotes an injury-free environment and we strongly adhere to the goals as stated by the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), which is “to provide a place of work that is free from recognized hazards”.  Our extensive ongoing training and education programs are designed to reduce the risk of injury, minimize & eliminate personal injury, property damage, and all direct and indirect costs associated with these types of issues. In fact, we continuously analyze and refine these programs as part of our commitment to providing an injury-free work environment.

In 2017, DIG earned an Experience Modification Rate (EMR) of 0.81.  An EMR is the objective measurement of each employer’s safety incident experience normalized to the industry incident rate. EMR’s below 1.00 indicates a contractor performs better than industry average in safety related incidents. As a result of our corporate-wide safety initiatives, we have received numerous safety awards during the past several years for achievements in safety excellence.

DIG has been recognized by the MMSDC as the 2006 and 2008 Supplier of the Year; and also recognized by the NMSDC as the Top Regional Supplier for 2007. These awards are given to minority suppliers that have experienced a high level of business growth and have a commitment to Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs).   In addition, these awards are given to MBEs with regards to the creation of job opportunities in the communities in which they work.  Lastly,  minority suppliers are recognized with these awards who help their customers identify innovative project approaches, cost saving ideas and/or unique specified services in the areas of quality, delivery, and competitiveness for their programs.
